    I actually have first hand experience of selling through tv shopping channels.

    The tc shopping channels are highly organised operations. One thing they do is monitor the hit rate on their telephone lines and calculate what key phrases spoken by the presenter(s) have triggered the bursts in interest. They will then relay this information to the presenter via an in-ear speaker.

    If you watch a shopping channel presentation from start to finish, you can easily identify the key phrases that pique the customer’s interest in the product. Firstly, it will be repeated time and time again. Look out for phrases like: “And, I just want to remind everyone yet again that this product comes complete with a remote control…”

    Secondly, if there two presenters, say a shopping channel presenter and a representative from the company that is selling the product, the shopping channel presenter will often prompt their guest presenter to repeat the key phrase with something like: “Bill, just go over the 90 day money back guarantee again because that is a very important aspect of our sale today…”

    You can use this knowledge to improve your click-through and conversion rates on any product you are an affiliate for that is also marketed on tv shopping channels. Once you have identified the key phrases, highlight them on any webpage where you have an affiliate link to the same product.
